Our Story

We Exist Because
Someone Had To.

Help a Sickler was born from a family's pain and transformed into a nation's movement. This is our story.

How It All Started

From One Family's Pain
to a National Mission.

Help a Sickler began in a quiet family home in Uganda, where sickle cell disease was not just a medical term — it was a daily reality. Our founder watched loved ones endure painful crises, long hospital stays, and the deep stigma that comes from being "the sick one" in a community that did not understand.

That personal experience created an unshakeable empathy — and an urgent question: if my family is going through this, how many other families are suffering in silence? In rural Uganda, the answer was heartbreaking.

Help a Sickler was created to extend that empathy outward — to every sickler, every affected family, and every community that needs education, sensitization, and care. We are not a charity. We are a community of warriors, well-wishers, and families choosing to stand together.

"We are a shoulder for every sickler who is underprivileged from the rural areas of the country."
